Evaluating the Economic Policy Stakes for 2025

When: September 9, 2024 2:00PM - 3:30PM

The Washington Center for Equitable Growth hosted a virtual event called “Evaluating the Economic Policy Stakes for 2025” on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

In the final months of the presidential campaign, a great deal of focus will be on how candidates describe their own policy proposals, and who wins will play an important role in determining how what policymakers focus on going forward. But the next president will also be responsible for how existing policies, including important Biden administration priorities, are carried out—will they be built upon or reversed?

We heard from a panel of researchers who have served in policy roles about how the election could shape the policy landscape over the coming years and how research informs our understanding of what that could mean for workers, families, and businesses. The panel discussed the policies everyone is talking about, as well as what the research predicts will happen from those policies. There was a Q&A session following the panel.
