Special Assistant to the President for Technology and Competition Policy
National Economic Council
Tim Wu serves as the special assistant to the president for technology and competition policy on the National Economic Council. Additionally, he is the Julius Silver Professor of Law, Science, and Technology at Columbia Law School, a position for which he is currently on leave while serving in the federal government. Wu has held additional posts in public service. He was enforcement counsel in the New York Attorney General’s Office, worked on competition policy for the National Economic Council for the Obama White House, and worked in antitrust enforcement at the Federal Trade Commission. He holds a B.sc. from McGill University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
