At The Washington Center for Equitable Growth, we believe that technological innovation is essential for economic growth, but that growth is only sustainable if technology strengthens the role of workers. The responsible use of AI should enhance workers’ productivity and their capacity to do meaningful work while preserving accountability, protecting rights, and advancing shared prosperity. This commitment informs both how we use AI within our organization and how we evaluate the broader implications of AI for workers and the economy.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support our work in areas such as research, communications, operational efficiency, and content development. Our use of AI is guided by a commitment to human-driven decision making, accuracy, equity, privacy, and data security.

Our Principles for Responsible AI Use

When using AI technologies, Equitable Growth is committed to:

• Wherever possible, crediting original human authorship for their writing, research, and data.
• Reviewing AI-generated content for accuracy, quality, and relevance before it is used or published.

Human Accountability

AI tools assist our staff but do not replace human judgment. Decisions, publications, research findings, communications, and other organizational outputs remain the responsibility of Equitable Growth staff and leadership. All AI-generated content is reviewed by our team prior to use.

Data Privacy and Security

We take appropriate measures to safeguard sensitive information. Equitable Growth does not share confidential, proprietary, privileged, or personally identifiable information with public AI tools without appropriate protections, approvals, and security controls in place.

Because AI systems can reflect or amplify bias present in their training data, we remain attentive to issues of equity, fairness, and inclusion. We continuously evaluate the technologies we use to ensure they align with our organizational values and mission.
