Former Director of Macroeconomic Policy
Equitable Growth
Michael Madowitz is the former director of macroeconomic policy at the Washington Center for Equitable Growth. His areas of research are macroeconomics, climate economics, energy markets, and the role of mothers and child care in the economy. Previously, he was a senior economist at the U.S. Congress’ Joint Economic Committee, after working in economic policy at the Center for American Progress, Resources for the Future, and the Brookings Institution. In addition, he serves on the Data Users Advisory Committee for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Madowitz holds a doctoral candidate degree in economics and a master’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of California, San Diego, and an undergraduate degree in economics and international relations from Pomona College.
