Christopher Faricy is an Associate Professor of Political Science in the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. He specializes in American politics, social policy, political economy, income inequality and public opinion and teaches courses in American Politics, The Politics of Income Inequality, Introduction to Political Analysis, Social Welfare Seminar, Political Parties and Elections Seminar. Dr. Faricy’s expertise lie in a variety of issues like public policy, political economy, political institutions, and public opinion. He is the author of Welfare for the Wealthy: Parties, Social Spending, and Inequality in the United States and is currently working on a new manuscript Public Opinion, Race, and Social Spending in America coauthored with Christopher Ellis and funded by the Russell Sage Foundation. This research explores how citizens form opinions toward social spending issues, and how policymakers respond to such opinions when crafting policy.
