Ratib M. Ali is an economic analyst at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office in the Antitrust Division. His primary fields of research are industrial organization, applied microeconomics, and merger and antitrust. His thesis studies the merger between US Airways and American Airlines and antitrust issues associated with it. In a separate work, he investigates airlines’ compliance of congestion-related regulations and its effects on competition. He holds a B.S. in economics from BRAC University in Bangladesh, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Boston College.
