Joseph E. Stiglitz is a University Professor at Columbia University. He holds a B.A. from Amherst College and a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, he holds a swath of honorary doctorates, and he won the Nobel Prize in economics in 2001.
