Kristin F. Butcher is the Marshall I. Goldman chair of economics at Wellesley College. She has held positions as a senior economist in the research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as a program officer at the MacArthur Foundation, and as a faculty member at Boston College and the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is an applied microeconomist whose research focuses on immigration, health, and criminal justice. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in economics from Princeton University, an M.Sc. in economics from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in economics from Wellesley College.
