Till von Wachter is professor of economics at the University of California, Los Angeles. His fields of interest are labor economics, the economics of aging, personnel economics, and macroeconomics. von Wachter is a faculty research affiliate at the California Center for Population Research, where he serves on the Executive Committee, an adjunct research affiliate at RAND, and is on the Faculty Advisory Board at the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a faculty research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a research fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research and the Institute for the Study of Labor. His work has been published in the American Economic Review and the Quarterly Journal of Economics, among others. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
