Gavin Kelly is Chief Executive of the Resolution Trust. He is also a commentator on economics and public policy — writing for The Guardian, The New Statesman, Financial Times, and other outlets. He covers a wide range of issues spanning economic policy, low pay, welfare reform, public services, and social mobility. He recently joined the Trust from the Resolution Foundation, where he worked as Chief Executive since 2010. Before that he worked in 10 Downing Street as Deputy Chief of Staff and spent more than a decade in Whitehall as a member of the Council of Economic Advisors at Her Majesty's Treasury, the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State at the Department for Education, and member of the Number 10 Policy Unit. Before working in government, he taught economics and politics at the University of Sheffield. Gavin sits on the advisory boards of a number of organizations including the Washington Center for Equitable Growth, Policy Bristol, and SPERI at the University of Sheffield.
