About This Event
The Washington Center for Equitable Growth will host Ignacio Gonzalez, Assistant Professor of Economics at American University, for a seminar on Tuesday, May 15. Gonzalez will present new research looking at the connections between lower capital investment, higher asset prices, and rising income inequality in the U.S. economy. The research sheds new light on these important macroeconomic trends and highlights declining capital taxation as a potential contributor to them. An earlier version of the paper can be viewed here.
This event is the latest installment of our monthly academic seminar series, which aims to elevate important new research on issues related to whether and how economic inequality impacts economic growth. It will be hosted at our offices in Washington, DC and the event will livestreamed.
